Ben Pope is a stand-up comedian, writer and performer. He has been doing stand-up for the best part of a decade, performing regularly across the UK and taking a host of critically-acclaimed shows to the Edinburgh Fringe including Baby Sasquatch (2018), Dancing Bear (2019) and most recently The Cut (2025) which received rave reviews from The Scotsman, Evening Standard and The Telegraph, and was nominated for NextUp Biggest Award in Comedy.
His YouTube specials Mr Big Stuff (2022) and Holy Cow (2024) have amassed over 56 thousand views and counting. In 2023 he took Holy Cow on his first nationwide tour around the UK and NZ, including a run at London’s Soho Theatre, which Joe Lycett described as ‘excellent’. This autumn he took The Cut on a 14-date tour of the UK.
Ben has written for The News Quiz (BBC Radio 4) and DMS Are Open (Radio 4), worked with the award-winning NewsRevue, and appeared on Comedy Central’s Achievement Unlocked, Dave’s Comedy Guide to Life and the BBC New Comedy Awards on Radio 4 Extra. He has supported Nick Mohammed, Kieran Hodgson, and Alex Kealy on tour and now runs seasonal mixed-bill nights in London with his best friend, ex-Prince of Main counterpart and musical comedian Alex MacKeith.
Combining his love of comedy and literature, Ben is making a name for himself across ‘booktok’, posting a series of reels from his independent bookshop Review in Peckham. Ben’s prose has also appeared in the Bookseller and Idler Magazines, and his newsletter Lo! can be subscribed to now, featuring illustrations by Will Hughes.
