Libby Penman is the 2026 Scottish influencer of the year and 2026 Royal Television Society Scotland, on screen TV personality of the year. She is an award-winning shooting director/ editor for TV and digital. She is an award-winning stills photographer. As a wildlife TV presenter she is regularly on TV for BBC One, BBC Two and BBC Scotland. Appearing on and shooting live for shows, Springwatch and Winterwatch. She is an accomplished long-lens cinematographer who has had her work narrated by David Attenborough.
Libby is an in-demand shooting PD; She has self shot and directed and edited TV shows across genres including documentaries with Love Island Stars about mental health and most recently BBC sports digital documentary, Women in Soccer, with her twin sister, Pip Penman in New York. In 2025 she self shot and directed 20 eps of a brand new BBC kids wildlife series in Kenya. For prime time TV, she has filmed the likes of Andy Murray, Rob Rinder and Monica Galetti.
In the digital space, Libby works with the top brands in wildlife and tech and has amassed millions of views for her light-hearted nature and camera themed content. Including several viral videos with her twin sister!
She regularly hosts large live events and delivers talks ranging from National Geographic Masterclasses in photography, BFI wildlife filmmaking presentations, Sony Camera talks, Royal Geographical Society presentations, school and colleague visits and presentations to local wildlife and conservation groups. Libby holds a 1st class degree (and winner of the University medal) In BA Film from Screen Academy Scotland, Edinburgh Napier.
She also holds a Masters Degree (with Distinction) from Salford University in MA Wildlife Documentary Production, which she obtained on the prestigious Dewars Art Scholarship ‘supporting Scotland’s Brightest and Best’.
